Botox, Xeomin & Dysport

Neuromodulators, or neurotoxins are a popular and effective way to reduce and soften the fine lines and wrinkles caused by aging. There are several brands of "toxins", including Botox, Xeomin, Dysport, and others.

Procedure

A very fine needle is used to inject a form of botulinumtoxinA to allow a targeted facial muscle to be temporarily paralyzed, which causes softening of the appearance of crow’s feet, forehead lines, and frown lines, providing a smoother and more youthful complexion.

Despite the limited FDA-approved indications of the particular neuromodulator, all forms are versatile enough to be used to relax all facial wrinkles, as well as to reshape and enhance certain facial features. They are commonly employed for fine lines and wrinkles on the face, creating a “lip flip”, reducing clenching of the jaw and slimming the jawline, reducing the appearance of a “gummy smile,” eliminating “bunny lines”, and so much more.

It is important to note that in the state of Nevada, neurotoxins are sold by the vial, and not by the unit. Therefore, prices reflect an entire vial (either 50 units, 100 units, or 300 units).

BOTOX® (onabotulinumtoxinA) is an FDA-approved injection made by Allergan, the makers of SkinMedica. The onset of action is usually within 3-7 days with full results visible at 10-14 days.

50 units: $550

100 units: $950

Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA) is an FDA-approved injection made by Merz Pharmaceuticals. It is considered to be the most stable and pure product of all neurotoxins as it does not have accessory proteins. This may reduce the likelihood of developing resistance to treatment or potential allergic reactions. The onset of action is usually within 3-7 days with full results visible at 10-14 days.

50 units: $500 (XPerience+ members receive $50 off treatments – free to join!)

100 units: $900 (XPerience+ members receive $50 off treatments – free to join!)

Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA) is an established brand with wide recognition. Similar to other botulinum toxin products, Dysport® works by temporarily blocking nerve signals to the muscles, resulting in muscle relaxation and the reduction of wrinkles or other targeted conditions.

Advantages of Dysport® include rapid onset (within 2-5 days) and has a broader spreading effect compared to some other products. This is advantageous when treating larger areas or addressing multiple facial wrinkles.

$900: 300 Dysport units (equivalent to 100 Botox/Xeomin units)
