ALLERGIES AND SENSITIVITIES

Food sensitivities may be a result of repetitive eating or lack of diversity in the diet. They are influenced by antibiotics and steroids, and possibly other medications.
Cross-reactivity with environmental allergens (pollen, dust, mold, etc.) can also exacerbate food sensitivities.

GUT AND LIVER

Functional medical testing for the gut and liver can provide valuable insights into your overall well-being. These tests go beyond standard diagnostics and help identify underlying issues.

For the gut, it can reveal imbalances in the microbiome, assess digestive function, and detect inflammation. Liver function tests assess the organ's ability to process substances.

These insights enable targeted interventions, promoting a proactive approach to health and personalized treatment plans.

GI-Microbial Assay Plus Panel

$648 (Stool Testing)

This is the most comprehensive analysis (87 biomarkers) of gut health and almost every patient can benefit from this assessment - although it is critical for patients who have been chronically ill and frustrated without a diagnosis for years.

Some conditions that warrant testing are those with autoimmune diseases, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), digestive complaints (bloating, diarrhea, constipation, discomfort), brain fog, skin problems like acne and psoriasis, joint issues, mood and nervous system conditions, and diabetes and weight loss issues.

This panel will test your stool sample and quantifies bacteria, fungi/yeast, viruses, and parasites using qPCR (DNA-based test). This is a leap forward from older methodologies that report only positive or negative.

Calprotectin measures gastrointestinal inflammation caused by infections, allergens, toxins, certain drugs, IBD, polyps, diverticulitis, or colorectal cancer. ($134 add-on)

Zonulin is a protein that opens intercellular tight junctions in the gut lining and increases intestinal permeability in the jejunum and ileum - it is a biomarker for barrier permeability. ($93 add-on)

functional medical testing

Celiac and Gluten Sensitivity

$239 (Phlebotomy done in-clinic)

The Celiac & Gluten Sensitivity Profile helps differentiate between celiac disease and gluten sensitivity by evaluating the serum titers of IgA and IgG for deamidated gliadin peptide, gliadin, and gluten.

functional medical testing

SIBO/IMO Lactulose Breath Test

$415 (Breath Test)

This test is used to help diagnose Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) and Intestinal Methanogen Overgrowth (IMO). When bacteria normally found in the large intestine become present in the small intestine, the digestive system may produce excessive hydrogen and/or methane gas, which can cause many gastrointestinal symptoms such as bloating, diarrhea, and constipation. This test comes with a LACTULOSE substrate.

functional medical testing

SIBO 3 Hour

$469 (Breath Test)

The 3-hour SIBO assessment is a non-invasive test that evaluates bacterial overgrowth of the small intestine. This longer test is recommended for patients with slower gastrointestinal transit or constipation

functional medical testing

Autoimmune Liver Disease Test

$138 (Phlebotomy done in-clinic)

This panel detects autoimmune liver disease, autoimmune hepatitis, and primary biliary cirrhosis.

METAL & MOLD TESTING

Heavy metal testing helps identify potential exposure to toxic substances like lead, mercury, or arsenic. Elevated levels of these metals can have adverse health effects, and early detection allows for timely intervention.

Mold exposure can lead to respiratory issues, allergies, and other health problems. Identifying the presence of mold and the specific types involved enables the implementation of effective remediation measures, reducing the risk of health issues associated with mold exposure.

functional medical testing

Metals Hair Test

$275 (Hair test)

44 biomarkers and ratios of heavy metals are tested here.

This is a screen for physiological excess, deficiency, or maldistribution of elements. It provides important information that can assist in the early diagnosis of disorders associated with aberrations in essential and toxic element metabolism. There is increasing levels of pollution and the use of chemicals in industry. Hair is a metabolic end product that incorporates trace elements into its structure during its growing process.

This test is required prior to chelation therapy and will identify if supplementation of important minerals may bring about significant improvements.

The Metals Hair test is useful for patients who experience alopecia (hair loss), depression, toxic element exposure, excessive fish consumption, fatigue, hypertension, malabsorption, Parkinson's-like symptoms, impaired glucose tolerance, vision problems, sexual impotence, or decreased testosterone production.

functional medical testing

Basic Mold Immunoreactivity Panel

$390 (Phlebotomy done in-clinic)

This Mold Immunoreactivity Panel measures IgE, IgA, and IgG response to 7 common molds. Only IgG and IgA responses are measured for Stachybotrys atra. A mold elimination plan is included with the results.

functional medical testing

Super Mold Immunoreactivity Panel

$784 (Phlebotomy done in-clinic)

This Mold Immunoreactivity Panel measures IgE, IgA, and IgG response to 16 common molds. Only IgG and IgA responses are measured for Stachybotrys atra. A mold elimination plan is included with the results

HEART & CELLULAR TESTING

Telomere Testing

$435 (Phlebotomy done in-clinic)

Telomeres are sections of genetic material at the end of each chromosome whose primary function is to prevent chromosomal “fraying” when a cell replicates. As a cell ages, its telomeres become shorter. Eventually, the telomeres become too short to allow cell replication, the cell stops dividing and will ultimately die—a normal biological process. This test, which measures the length of one’s telomeres, reveals the rate of biological aging and is strongly correlated with risk for chronic diseases. It has been established as a superb marker for cellular aging. Therapies directed at slowing the loss of telomere length (NAD+) may slow aging and the progression of age-related disease.

Overall recommendations to maintain telomere length

Reduce all known coronary risk factors, inflammation, oxidative stress, ADMA (asymmetric dimethylarginine) levels, and angiotensin II levels or its action ADMA is known to inhibit nitric oxide synthesis and promote atherosclerosis. Increasing nitric oxide levels and arginine levels will increase endothelial progenitor cells, improve mitochondrial function and increase oxidative defenses.

What lifestyle modifications are likely to be helpful?

Achieving ideal body weight and body composition with low body fat as well as decreasing visceral fat is very important. Intermittent fasting and caloric restriction have been found to be helpful as well. Both aerobic and resistance exercise for an hour a day, proper sleep, stress reduction, and discontinuation of all tobacco products are strongly recommended. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) may decrease the rate of telomere loss.

Understanding the metabolome, combined with medical history and lifestyle, can provide insight into the following areas of health and help you reveal your metabolic signature.

  • Metabolic and macronutrient processing
  • Nutritional and vitamin status
  • Level and flow of amino acid
  • Detoxification
  • Mood issues
  • Gut concerns
  • Overall well-being

Dutch Complete

$626 (Home collection of urine)

The DUTCH (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) Complete test is an advanced diagnostic tool used to evaluate hormone levels. This test is unique because it uses dried urine samples to measure various hormones and their metabolites.
Here are its key features:

  • Hormone Assessment
  • The DUTCH Complete test measures a range of hormones such as cortisol, cortisone, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. This comprehensive approach provides a more complete picture of a person's hormonal balance compared to traditional blood tests.
  • Circadian Rhythm Analysis
  • It includes an evaluation of the natural daily patterns of cortisol and cortisone, which can help assess adrenal function and identify issues with circadian rhythm. Metabolite Measurement The test also measures hormone metabolites, which are the products of hormone breakdown. This can offer more detailed insights into how hormones are being processed by the body.
